GLENSIDE - A three-run bottom of the sixth with RBI singles from
Breanna Farrow,
Kritzie Diaz-Rivera, and
Sofia Forbito helped the Arcadia University softball team secure game one against Penn State Abington 4-3 before falling 9-5 in game two from Blankley Field in non-conference play Thursday evening.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia moved to 9-15.
-Abington stands at 10-14.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: ARCADIA 4, ABINGTON 3
-Abington opened the scoring in game one with a two-run homer in the top of the fourth.
-
Alexa Kozarski got the Knights on the board in the bottom of the fourth when she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
-Farrow tied the score in the sixth when she singled through the left side to score Kozarski.
-Diaz-Rivera followed with a single to right that brought home
Isabel Vitense.
-Forbito increased the lead with a single to left that plated
Maddie Porter.
-Abington loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh but
Stephanie Binek was able to nail down the save.
-
Dakota Fanelli secured the win with 1.1 hitless innings of relief.

Caity Hinton got Arcadia on the board in the bottom of the first with a single to left-center that brought home Diaz-Rivera from first.
-Abington crossed the plate four times in the top of the second.

Sybella DeMaio cut the deficit to 4-2 in the bottom of the second when she singled up the middle bringing hom
Sadie Drozdowski.
-Hinton tied the game in teh bottom of the third with a two-run double to right-center that scored Diaz-Rivera and Kozarski.
-Abington retook the lead with two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth.
-Diaz-Rivera finished the scoring in the bottom of the sixth when she brought in DeMaio.
