GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team opened the 2026 season with a three-set sweep of Bryn Mawr College Tuesday evening inside Alumni Gymnasium. The Knights (1-0) earned the victory by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-11.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE: Arcadia 25 – Bryn Mawr 18
- After an early service error, the Knights responded by jumping out to a 4-3 lead behind kills from Morgan Orsulak, Chana Rothschild and Devon Young.
- Arcadia extended its lead to 9-5, taking advantage of a few Owl miscues while Raegan Oursler added two more kills.
- Mia Beckett recorded her first kill to give Arcadia 10 points before the Knights used a 4-0 run, highlighted by two more kills from Oursler and a block assist from Orsulak and Rothschild, to take a 14-8 lead.
- After the teams traded points, Arcadia used another 4-0 run behind kills from Young and Beckett and an ace from Alliy Kulas.
- The Knights closed out the opening set with a kill from Young to secure the 25-18 victory.
SET TWO: Arcadia 25 – Bryn Mawr 16
- The Knights quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead behind four kills, including two from Beckett and one each from Oursler and Anna Keer, along with another ace from Kulas.
- Oursler and Rothschild sparked a 6-1 run with kills to help Arcadia build a 15-7 advantage.
- Kills from Orsulak, Beckett and Keer, along with another ace from Kulas, pushed the Knights' lead to 21-9.
- Bryn Mawr made a late push, but kills from Kam Wertz, Orsulak and Oursler helped the Knights close out the set, 25-16.
SET THREE: Arcadia 25 – Bryn Mawr 11
- The Knights jumped out to a commanding 14-4 lead, fueled by aces from Young and Avery Bell and kills from Wertz and Beckett.
- Arcadia took advantage of Bryn Mawr miscues to extend its lead to 18-6.
- Young and Keer added kills down the stretch as the Knights sealed the match with a 25-11 third-set victory.
