WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team wrapped up day two of the Worthington Classic, hosted by Gallaudet University, with a pair of three-set losses Saturday.
The Knights (10-4, 1-1 MAC Freedom) first fell to Eastern University, 3-0, by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-23.
Raegan Oursler paced Arcadia with 13 kills, while Kailyn Riggi recorded three aces, Anna Keer had four blocks, Bryana Saenz dished out 16 assists and Avery Bell totaled 16 digs.
In the final match of the day, the Knights fell to the University of Mount Union, 3-0, by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 26-24. Oursler added 15 kills to lead all players and recorded two aces. Keer had four blocks, Kaitlyn Small finished with 24 assists and Bell added 29 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: Eastern 3 – Arcadia 0 SET ONE: Eastern 25 – Arcadia 20
· Oursler and Alliy Kulas picked up early kills to cut into Eastern's lead, 4-2. Mia Beckett added a kill before Oursler slammed down another, and Bell followed with an ace to make it a one-point, 7-6 Eagles lead.
· Back-to-back kills from Oursler and a kill from Maddie Gavin Ruple gave the Knights their first lead. After another kill from Oursler, the Eagles responded with a 6-1 run to regain the lead.
· A kill from Keer and back-to-back kills from Keer and Kulas sparked a 3-0 run for the Knights. Arcadia then retook the lead after kills from Beckett and Small and a block from Gavin Ruple and Oursler.
· The Knights recorded one more kill in the set, but the Eagles closed out the frame on an 8-2 run to take the opening set.
SET TWO: Eastern 25 – Arcadia 18
· Oursler's kill gave the Knights an early 1-0 lead before a kill from Devon Young started a 4-0 run that also included an ace from Riggi and a kill from Keer.
· Eastern answered with a 9-2 run before the Knights got kills from Beckett and Oursler to make it 15-13 Eagles.
· Morgan Orsulak's kill and another ace from Riggi made it a one-point game before Eastern responded with a 5-0 run. Despite two more kills from Keer and another from Oursler, the Eagles took a 2-0 lead in the match.
SET THREE: Eastern 25 – Arcadia 23
· Young's kill started a 2-0 run for the Knights, which also included an ace from Kulas. Oursler's kill and Riggi's ace sparked another 3-0 run to give Arcadia a 5-3 lead.
· Kills from Beckett and Oursler, along with an ace from Oursler, extended the lead to 11-8 before the Eagles responded with a 6-0 run. Kills from Young and Oursler and a block from Oursler and Keer cut the deficit to 15-14. Eastern answered with back-to-back points before the Knights regained the lead with a 5-0 run that included kills from Oursler, Keer and Beckett and a block from Beckett and Keer.
· A pair of kills from Young made it 23-20 Arcadia, but the Eagles closed out the set and the match with a 5-0 run to win, 25-23.

· Young got the Knights on the board early with a kill before back-to-back kills from Oursler gave Arcadia a 4-3 lead. The Purple Raiders responded with a 6-0 run before kills from Beckett and an ace from Oursler.
· Wertz, Orsulak and Oursler each recorded kills as the Knights tried to keep the set close. Mount Union began to pull away with a 4-0 run to take an 18-12 lead before Oursler answered with back-to-back kills.
· The Knights made it a two-point set with a 4-0 run that included two kills from Beckett and one from Young to make it 19-17. Keer and Wertz each recorded kills before Wertz and Young teamed up for a block. The Knights got one final kill from Oursler, but the Purple Raiders took the opening set.
SET TWO: Mount Union 25 – Arcadia 23
· Orsulak picked up two early kills, while Oursler added another as the Knights took a 4-2 lead. Mount Union responded with a 5-0 run to make it 8-4 before Keer recorded a kill.
· Kills from Beckett and Oursler capped a 3-0 run before a kill from Young and an ace from Bell gave the Knights an 11-10 lead. Kills from Orsulak and Oursler, along with a block from Oursler and Keer, made it 15-14 Arcadia.
· The Knights went on a 4-0 run with two kills from Oursler before Mount Union answered with a 4-0 run of its own. Beckett picked up two more kills, while Young added another and Saenz recorded an ace, but the Purple Raiders closed out the set on a 3-0 run to win, 25-23.
SET THREE: Mount Union 26 – Arcadia 24
· Wertz and Orsulak teamed up for a block to tie the set at 2-2. A kill from Oursler and back-to-back blocks from Keer and Beckett gave the Knights the lead.
· A 3-0 run, which included two kills from Young and one from Beckett, extended the lead before kills from Young, Wertz and Orsulak made it 12-8 Arcadia.
· A kill from Oursler and a solo block from Keer made it 16-10 Knights. Arcadia then got kills from Oursler, Beckett and Young, along with an ace from Oursler, to extend the lead to 22-15.
· Looking to force a fourth set, the Knights got two more kills from Orsulak and Oursler. With Arcadia leading 24-17, the Purple Raiders closed the set on a 9-0 run to complete the sweep.
