STEVENSON, Md. — The Arcadia University field hockey team fell 6-0 on the road to Stevenson Saturday afternoon.
Anna Doblovosky turned in a strong performance in goal, making 13 saves in the loss. The Knights fall to 0-2 while Stevenson improves to 2-0 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights controlled the early action, putting four shots toward the cage in the opening quarter.
- Arcadia created its first offensive pressure six minutes into the contest as Mackenzie Clark fired back-to-back shots on cage, testing the Stevenson goalkeeper. Ashley Avington followed with a shot on cage, but the Mustang keeper came up with another save to keep the Knights off the board.
- The Knights earned their lone penalty corner of the afternoon moments later, but Kyra Moyer's attempt was blocked.
- Stevenson broke through with two goals in the first half, but Doblovosky kept Arcadia within reach with seven saves before halftime. The Knights headed into the break trailing 2-0.
- The Mustangs added to their advantage in the third quarter, scoring once despite another five saves from Doblovosky.
- Stevenson put the game away in the fourth quarter, adding three more goals to secure the 6-0 shutout.
