Adam Planamento '12

Adam Planamento recently completed his third season as a member of the Arcadia University baseball staff in 2015. He is responsible for catcher and pitchers, as well as assisting with recruiting.

In his first season as a member of the Knights coaching staff, Coach Planamento was responsible for oversight of the catchers. In that season, the team raised their caught stealing percentage from 6% to 28%. Better catcher play also showed in the comfort level of the pitchers, who went from a 5.91 earned run average in 2012 to a 3.90 ERA, which was the best posted by an Arcadia team since 2007.

Coach Planamento joined the staff after enjoying a four-year career as a starter at multiple positions for the Knights. As a starting catcher his freshman year, he posted one of the highest batting averages in conference play, hitting .380 in the Commonwealth Conference to boost his season batting average to .315. Planamento also placed fifth in runners caught stealing with seven.

Coach Planamento has also coached American Legion baseball in his hometown of Cherry Hill, N.J., leading his team to the 2013 New Jersey Junior American Legion State Championship with an appearance at the regional tournament in Westfield, Conn.

Planamento graduated from Arcadia University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and currently resides in Glenside, Pa.
