Julian Falana

Julian Falana is starting his third season as an assistant men's basketballĀ coach at Arcadia University in 2016-17. He also serves as an athletic facilities assistant at Arcadia.Ā 
Ā 
Falana arrived at Arcadia after spending the previous three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Gwynedd Mercy University, where his responsibilities included reaching out to high school student-athletes and coaches, collaborating with admissions, coordinating unofficial/official visits, organizing mailings, and coordinating home game visits for recruits. Gwynedd Mercy won the CSAC Conference Championship during the 2015-16 season and made the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Falana also served as an assistant coach at local powerhouse, Abington High School, during the 2010-11 season, where his primary responsibilities included bench coaching, player development, and conditioning.

Falana has gained additional experience as a camp director for the Philadelphia 76ers summer camps, and has served as an instructor at camps and clinics organized by CityOfBasketballLove, Hoop Group, Hoop Rootz, Villanova University, Herb MaGee Basketball, and the YMCA.
Ā 
Falana earned his associates degree in business administration from Montgomery County Community College in 2010 and then earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Chestnut Hill College in 2012. He completed his master’s degree in classroom climate & management at Gratz College in 2014. He is currently taking classes at Arcadia for his doctorate in educational leadership and maintaining a 3.50 GPA.

The Philadelphia resident is currently a 7th & 8th grade science teacher and the head boy’s basketball coach at AB Day School in The School District of Philadelphia.Ā  He is also an adjunct professor in the Computer Science & Information Technology Department at Chestnut Hill College where he teaches Microsoft Excel.
