Ryan Weathers

Ryan Weathers begins his third season as the head coach for Arcadia Swimming in the fall of 2012.  In his first two years with the program, Coach Weathers doubled his roster by recruiting talented student-athletes who provided an immediate impact on the program while providing effective instruction in dry-land training and in the pool. As a result, Arcadia swimmers have set numerous new program and Lenox Pool records and enjoyed their best post-season performance at the 2012 Middle Atlantic Conference Swimming Championships.

Weathers boasts experiences as a national champion student-athlete and coach - both of which have transformed Arcadia's program into a more competitive one among its Middle Atlantic Conference opponents. His local connections are a benefit to the University's recruiting efforts, and his commitment to the sport of swimming  affords Arcadia swimmers the ability to improve as athletes and to achieve life skills through the sport of swimming.

Weathers is a health and physical education teacher, athletic director, and varsity swimming coach for the Abington School District. He has worked in Sea Isle, N.J., for the past 10 summers as a professional rescuer, CPR/ AED instructor, junior lifeguard instructor, open water competitor and EMT. Over his career, Weathers has been involved as an instructor or coach for five different swimming organizations. Before joining Abington, he served as the Head Recruiting and Assistant Swim Coach at West Chester University.

As a student-athlete, Weathers was a member of the swim team at West Chester University (1999-03), earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and teacher certification with a minor in coaching, along with membership in the Phi Epsilon Kappa honors fraternity. As swim captain, Weathers led the relay team to West Chester’s first-ever Division II national championship. He was a two-time NCAA Division II National Champion and 25- time All American. Weathers also earned the West Chester Male Scholar Athlete of the Year twice in his college career and earned the ECAC Division II Male scholar Athlete of the Year award.
