Matt Elias finished his first season on the men's volleyball coaching staff in 2020.
In 2020, the Knights played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country, as the squad took on several top-15 teams in the nation and were ranked 10th in the nation by AVCA entering the year. Arcadia produced an 11-10 overall record and a 3-2 mark in conference contests before the MAC canceled the remainder of spring seasons on March 16. Despite the season being cut short, senior Austin Braas led all of NCAA Division III in hitting percentage for the second-consecutive season en route to earning AVCA All-East Region and First-team All-America honors.
Matt Elias played professional volleyball in Germany, where his highlights included 2018 USAV Adult Nationals Open Division Champions, as well as 2018 Jamaica Invitational Champions. He was also chosen best setter at the Jamaica Championships.
During his time at Juniata College, Elias was named NCAA DIII National Runner-up, two-time Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Champions and CVC Freshman of the Year. He was also a CVC All Conference selection, two-time CVC Tournament MVP and was chosen All-American by Off the Block & Springbak.
Elias served as an athlete evaluator for USA Volleyball High Performance. He also coached North Penn High School Boys Volleyball and has worked for various local clinics.
