Aroline Hanson is entering her second season as assistant men's and women's cross country coach at Arcadia University in 2016. 

Hanson, who has been a professor in Arcadia's Modern Language Department since 2013, has been an active marathon runner since 2005. She has competed in three Boston Marathons, which is arguably the most prestigious marathon in the country, and has also run in the New York City Marathon. She set a personal best of 3:05 in the 2013 Philadelphia Marathon, which qualified her for the elite classification the following year.
 
Hanson was a varsity sailor at Tufts University, and went on to compete for the U.S. Sailing National Team after earning her bachelor's degree in Spanish in 2001. She served as a field hockey and sailing coach for six years while earning her master's in Spanish at Middlebury College before earning a master's in Spanish linguistics and her doctorate Spanish and language science at Penn State University.
