Lauren Mateja

Lauren Mateja completed her first season as assistant field hockey and women's lacrosse coach at Arcadia University in 2014-15, which was a newly created full-time position.
 
Mateja joins the Knights’ staff after serving as an assistant lacrosse coach at Haverford College in 2014, where she worked with the team’s defensive players and goalies. Her duties also included practice planning, scouting and player management.
 
The Fords went 8-8 this past season and featured two all-conference selections, one of which went on to earn first-team all-region honors. Seven student-athletes were named to the Centennial Conference Honor Roll in recognition of their academic achievements.
 
Mateja was a two-year starter in goal as a member of the women’s lacrosse team at NCAA Division II Millersville University after transferring from NCAA Division II Mercy College following her freshman year. She started in all 16 games as a senior and led the Marauders to a 9-7 record, marking the most wins for their women’s lacrosse program since 2001 and their first winning season since 2008. She won six games in her first season as a starter at Millersville in 2012 while ranking fourth in Division II with 181 saves and 11th with 10.65 saves per game.
 
Mateja won 15 games and totaled 333 saves in her three seasons at Millersville, and was a three-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete. She was 8-6 with 138 saves while starting in all 14 games in her one season at Mercy, giving her career totals of 23 wins and 471 saves in her 52 career games played.
 
The King of Prussia native earned her bachelor’s degree in English while minoring in government & political affairs from Millersville in May 2013.
