Maria DeGeorge Kosmin ’06 is in her fifth season as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Arcadia University in 2015, where she works primarily with the team’s forwards and midfielders.
DeGeorge Kosmin was a four-year starter in the midfield for the Knights, and finished her collegiate career as the program’s all-time leading scorer with school-record totals of 43 goals and 37 assists for 123 points. Each of those marks remains a record to this day.
DeGeorge Kosmin scored 10 goals with a then program-record 15 assists for a school-record 35 points in 2002 on her way to being named to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and a First-Team All-Conference selection. She went on to be named a First-Team All-PAC selection in each of her four collegiate seasons.
In addition to her role at Arcadia, DeGeorge Kosmin has coached alongside Arcadia head coach Rick Brownell with a pair of top-tier club programs. Their Flemington Flames team was ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation in the spring of 2014. They are now leading the PA Rush 98s.
A native of Philadelphia and graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School, DeGeorge Kosmin earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Arcadia in 2006. She currently resides in Warminster with her husband, Christian, and their two daughters, Mia and Brenna.
DeGeorge Kosmin’s brother, Thomas DeGeorge, was a two-time All-American (2001-02) as a member of Arcadia’s men’s soccer program. He led the Knights to their first two NCAA Championship tournament appearances, including a berth in the 2002 national quarterfinals.
