Dave Hughes begins his fifth year as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Arcadia in 2025-26.
In 2025, Hughes was award the Arcadia Athletics Service Award, selected by the Athletic Director and given to a department staff member in recognition for their efforts in supporting and advancing the services and programs of Arcadia.
Hughes arrived in Glenside in August of 2021 following a stint at Fresno State University where he assisted with strength and conditioning efforts for the Bulldogs' football program under the direction of Coach Ron McKeefery. Prior to that, Hughes served as a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Salisbury for two years where he designed and implemented strength and conditioning programming for the Seagulls' baseball, softball, and men's and women's swim teams while assisting with the men's and women's lacrosse and football programs.
Hughes also gained valuable experience as an intern with Duke University's Olympic Sports Performance division in the spring of 2020 after completing a year-long stay at Siena College as an assistant with the strength and conditioning team.Â
Hughes earned his bachelor of science in kinesiology from SUNY Cortland in 2015 before completing his master of science in applied health physiology from Salisbury in May of 2021. He is a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and also holds a USA Weightlifting Level I certification.
