Lycoming hosts Arcadia in regular-season finale

WILLIAMSPORT, PA:  (Jan. 29, 2011) [Results] -  Lycoming College served as the host for today's Middle Atlantic Conference Swim Meet against Arcadia University and won both the men's events (143-89) and the women's (140-99) to close out the regular season for each team.  Arcadia's Sean Robinson '14 was the lone gold medal winner of the day for the Knights, setting a new personal best time in the 200 Backstroke (2:15.11).  Robinson also added a silver medal and another personal best in the 100 Backstroke (1:04.76). 

Oliver McCormick '13 finished the day with two runner-up performances in the 1000 Freestyle (11:12.89) and 500 Freestyle (5:33.40).  Jason Sharpe '11 swam to a second place finish in the 200 Freestyle (1:58.54) with Aaron Knock '12 placing third (2:02.95, a personal best).  Knock added a silver in the 100 Freestyle (53.79).   Patrick Ward '13 set a new personal best when he placed third in the 100 Backstroke (1:06.57).  Dillon Grady '13 took third in the 100 Breaststroke (1:12.43) while Joe Blake '13 earned a personal best in the 100 Butterfly (1:05.25) to highlight the men's top performers.

On the women's side, Jessica Parker '12 swam to two, second place personal best times in the 200 Freestyle (2:09.32) and 100 Freestyle (58.25) to lead the women.  Stephanie Bartolotta '11 finished third behind Parker in both of those events, the 200 Freestyle (2:16.83) and 100 Freestyle (1:03.14).  Lindsay Mills '13 earned second in the 50 Free (29.47), Gina Ruppert '11 third in the 200 Butterfly (2:43.90, a personal best) and Rebecca Wenner 'GR third in the 50 Free (29.96).  Catey Nunnari '13 picked up a new personal best in the 500 Freestyle (5:55.75), rounding out the Knight's top individual performers. 

The team will remain idle until the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships begin on Feb. 11 at the Wilkes-Barre, PA CYC. Knights who have qualified both individually and  as relay team members will be announced here this week.
