N. Myrtle Beach, S.C., Thursday, March 17, 2011-- Arcadia Softball ran past Prinicipia College 10-0 before losing to Barton 7-6 on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning Friday afternoon in their finals games over spring break. The Knights return home from spring break with a 7-3 overall record.
Senior

While the Knights made quick work of Principia this week, they could not solve Barton who came away with their win over Arcadia Friday afternoon via the International Tie Breaker Rule and a little luck. Tied 6-6 headed into the bottom of the eigth inning after Arcadia came up empty in the top of the frame, with a Barton runner placed on second, an error on Arcadia's pitcher added a runner on first. Barton bunted the runners to second and third and before the Knights could get their bairings, a wild pitch allowed the game winning run to cross home plate. Barton scored four earned runs of junior picthcer
Kelsey Roberts who threw nine hits in the game two loss. Sophomore
Brandee Zablotsky went 3-for-5, all doubles, with three RBI.
Arcadia returns home to host Chestnut Hill College this Tuesday at 3 p.m. in a non-conference doubleheader.
