GLENSIDE, Pa., Thursday, April 14, 2011-- Sweeping doubles action, last done so on March 28 at Gwynedd-Mercy, Arcadia Men's Tennis would play on to take eight of nine matches for a 8-1 victory over visiting Immaculata University, on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at the Weiss Courts. Today's win is their second straight and first victory on their home courts for 2010-11 as they improve their overall record to 3-7 since the fall season. The Mighty Macs sit at 1-8 overall.

The No. 1 doubles pairing featuring Bart Blankenship/Kevin Langner won 8-2, followed by an 8-4 win for No. 2 pair Eric Ellie/Herminio Quinones. Playing No.3, first-year Marc Ruggia won his third match and second straight in shutout fashion with partner Max Ameil '12. 

Highlighting singles play was first year Michael Schwartz going the distance for his first collegiate win, playing IU's Michael Hermansen,finishing victorious, 6-4, 7-5. Fellow first-year Andrew Duong at No. 5 Singles handily defeated IU's Chad Mascitelli, 6-1, 6-0, earning his first collegiate singles win. Bart Blankenship at No. 1, Kevin Langner at No. 2 and Marc Ruggia at No. 3 all won their singles matches while first year Dean Search gave a gutsy effort at No. 4 singles, falling 6-3, 7-5 to IU's lone point getter of the afternoon, T.J. Klinger. 

The Knights look forward to April 16 hosting Commonwealth Conference rival Lebanon Valley College, a twin-bill with the women's teams beginning at 11 a.m. on the Weiss Courts.
