Box Score Glenside, PA (October 17, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (6-5-3, 3-3) saw their two game winning streak come to an end tonight in a 3-2 loss the Alvernia University Crusaders (7-6-3, 2-4). The first half went scoreless, but two goals by Alvernia in a span of seven minutes early in the second half was the difference.
Nick Morris and
Tim O'Leary recorded the Arcadia goals in the second half.
The first half saw very little offense as Arcadia and Alvernia combined for just five shots, four of them for the Knights. Alvernia had the only two corner kicks of the first half.
At 52:45 Alvernia found the back of the net for their first tally and then scored again at the 58:21 mark to take a 2-0 lead. The Crusaders then added another goal at 73:45 to put the match away. Arcadia did score at 86:12 when Morris scored on a breakaway and beat the keeper. They added a second tally with just 13-seconds left as
Tim O'Leary scored off an assist from
Dean Search.
The Knights finished with 13 shots, while Alvernia had seven. Alvernia had three corners to the Knights two.
Ryan Lantzy made one save for the Knights.
Arcadia returns to action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to face Lycoming for a 12pm kick-off.
