Women's Soccer Records Road Shutout at Lycoming

Box Score Williamsport, PA (October 20, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (10-4-3, 4-2-1) picked up their third straight Commonwealth Conference win this afternoon, 2-0 over Lycoming College (1-12-3, 0-5-1). The Knights got a pair of goals in the first half, one from Anastasia Stratton and one from Rachel Bradd. Veronica Willig recorded her third straight shutout this afternoon, making four saves.

Arcadia got on the board quickly in the first half as Stratton scored after Fatima Elmedkhar took a rebound and passed it to Stratton who beat the keeper into the lower left corner. Then at 29:15 Bradd took a shot that hit the right post, got her own rebound and put the ball into the middle of the net. The match went into the break with the Knights leading 2-0. Arcadia outshot Lycoming 8-1 and had three corners to none for Lycoming.

The second half went scoreless, but the Knights had several scoring opportunities recording nine shots and two corner kicks. Lycoming did record five shots, but had no corner kicks.

Arcadia returns home for the final two matches of the season, starting on Wednesday night when they host Nationally ranked Messiah for a 7pm kick-off at Easton Field.
