Women's Basketball Goes to 3-0 Behind Double-Double by Jacob

Box Score Allentown, PA (November 20, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (3-0) won their third straight game to start the season tonight, 101-44 over Cedar Crest College (1-3). The Knights started the game on a 26-5 run, led by 21 at the half and never looked back. Rachel Jacob led four double figure scorers with a game-high 22 points and recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds.

Arcadia jumped right out of the gate and led 26-5 with 9:50 to play in the first half. They continued to bolster the lead and had as much as a 26-point advantage at 33-7 at the 6:12 mark. Cedar Crest tried to stay with the Knights, but Arcadia took a 39-18 lead into the break.

The Knights used the fist half of the second session to go on a 30-9 run and take a 69-27 lead with 10:03 to play. They then were up by 46 points at 76-30 and then led 89-39 with 2:54 to go and ended the game on an 11-5 run to win 101-44.

Jacob was 10-13 from the field. Morgan Wensley added 16 points and six boards, while Victoria Roukas had 13 points and eight rebounds and Pauline Reed added 10 points. DeJanet Lantion led Cedar Crest with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Arcadia shot 54.4% from the field and held Cedar Crest to 23.6%. The Knights controlled the boards 59-26 and forced 22 turnovers, while committing 16.

Arcadia will return to action on Saturday as they travel to face Medgar Evers for a 4pm tip-off.
