Box Score Williamsport, PA (December 8, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (4-4, 0-3 MCOM) dropped a 66-55 decision to the Lycoming College Warriors (2-5, 2-2 MCOM). Lycoming jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start the game and Arcadia could never recover. The Knights got to within two in the first half, but trailed by as much as 21 in the second half.
Valerie DiMuro scored 12 points to lead Arcadia.
The Warriors scored quickly and often and led 8-0 just under three minutes into the game. Arcadia fought back and got to within two points at 14-12 at the 10:10 mark. Lycoming them went on an 11-1 run to take a 25-13 lead with 5:06 to play. The Knights got no closer than 10 the rest of the half and trailed 31-18 at the break.
Dominque Hassinger scored seven points in the first half to lead Arcadia. Shanley Harlacker scored eight to lead Lycoming. The Knights shot just 19% from the field in the first half, while Lycoming shot 36%. The Warriors had a slight edge on the boards, 24-23, but forced 25 turnovers while committing 18.
The Warriors quickly extended their lead and held a double digit cushion for the entire second half. They led by as many as 21 points at 56-35 with 7:36 to play and the final margin of 11 points was as close as the Knights could get.
DiMuro was 3-6 from the field, including 6-7 from the line and had six rebounds.
Sara DeCinque scored 11 points, while Hassinger and Samanatha Caligiuri each scored 10 points.Julia Antonelli led Lycoming with 12 points. The Warriors outshot the Knigths 41.4%-29.4% and won the board battle 42-39.
Arcadia will return home on Wednesday night as they host Widener for a 6pm tip in Alumni Gym.
