Gaughan Gets Lone Point in Loss at Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, PA:  Originally scheduled to be played as a men's & women's doubleheader, today's Commonwealth Conference match was moved indoors to Lebanon Valley's Arnold Sports Arena and played as a single affair with the host Dutchmen defeating Arcadia University 8-1 in this afternoon's league opener.

Earning the Knights lone win of the match was Kaila Gaughan, in a barnburner at No. 6 Singles.  Gaughan lost the first set 6-3, but won the second 4-6 forcing the tie-breaker that resulted in a 10-8 win and the match in the final ladder position match of the afternoon.

LVC, winners of seven straight, led 3-0 after doubles.  Christie Graf beat Arcadia's Dominique Canale '15 6-3, 6-2 to open play at No. 1 Singles.  LVC's Amelia Capuano took a first-set tiebreak to win 7-6 (5), 6-1 over the Knight's Beth Osipowitz '12 at No. 2.

Arcadia's Jasmine Peake '14 dropped her match at No. 4 to LVC's Tam Lobb 2-6, 1-6. Danielle Riggins '14 dropped a 1-6, 0-6 match at No. 5 Singles to Mary Kate Lemon while Meghan Muccilli capped the Dutchmen win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over the Knight's Latoya Fluker '14 at No. 6. 

Arcadia (1-5 overall, 0-1 CC) gets right back to work tomorrow with a Sunday men's & women's non-conference doubleheader at King's College.  Match time is scheduled for 12 Noon.
