IMMACULATA, Pa (September 8, 2012) – Facing match point nine different times in the fourth game, the Arcadia University women's volleyball team showed tremendous perseverance in rallying for a thrilling five-set win (25-13, 21-25, 22-25, 28-26, 15-9) over Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Knights improved to 3-1 on the year.
Down two sets to one and trailing 24-17 in the fourth, Arcadia strung together seven consecutive points to stave off defeat. Subsequently, the Knights also faced match point down 25-24 and 26-25 before stringing together three straight points to pull out a 28-26 victory in the ultra-competitive fourth set. Arcadia went on to capture the fifth set to win its second match in a row.
Junior Taylor Hoover led the Knights with a team-high 13 kills, seven digs and four service aces. Senior Carlee Rossiter added a game-high 32 assist and 14 digs. Graduate student Erin Ficca had a team-high 31 digs to go along with four assists. Senior Delaney Dobson contributed twelve kills.
Arcadia will return home on Tuesday to take on MAC Commonwealth opponent Widener University at 7 p.m. inside the Kuch Center.
