Men's Basketball Falls at Albright

Box Score Reading, PA (January 23, 2012) - The Arcadia University Knights (11-7, 6-5 MCOM) dropped a road Commonwealth contest to the Albright College Lions (15-3, 8-3 MCOM), 86-76 tonight. The game was tied at 51 early in the second half, but a 12-3 run by Albright gave the Lions a nine point lead that they would never relinquish. Travis Saltus scored 19 points to lead Arcadia.

The game was back and forth early on with each team taking the lead. Arcadia led 19-13 at the 11:52 mark. The Knights held the lead, but Albright chipped into their deficit and eventually tied the game at 28 with 6:53 to play. The Lions then took the lead back and led 33-28 with 5:31 to play. Arcadia got to within 35-34, but Albright used a 9-2 run to end the half and take a 44-36 lead into the break.

Brown led Arcadia with 10 points and Pedro Perez scored nine to lead Albright. Arcadia shot 54% from the field, while Albright scored 51%. The Knights held a 16-14 lead on the boards, but committed 11 turnovers and forced just four.

Albright extended their lead to start the second half at 46-36, but Arcadia used a 15-5 run tie the game at 51 with 13:48 to play. The Lions used a 12-3 run to go back up by nine, 63-54 at the 10:55 mark. The Lions held the lead and expanded it to 14 points at 74-62 at the 4:51 mark. Albright maintained the double-digit cushion and won by the 10-point margin,

Saltus was 7-15 from the field and had six rebounds. Brown finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Khalief Trawick scored 14 points. Perez scored a game-high 24 points for Albright. Arcadia shot 45% from the field, while Albright shot 43%. The Kngihts won the board battle 42-37, but committed 19 turnovers and forced just eight.

Arcadia will remain on the road on Saturday as they travel to face Hood for a 3pm tip-off.
