Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – Freshman forward
Lennon Kramer (Nazareth, Pa.) scored two goals and assisted on a third as the Arcadia University women's soccer team recorded a convincing 3-0 MAC Commonwealth victory over Elizabethtown College Tuesday night at Easton Field.
The Knights improved to 10-1-3 overall and 3-0-1 in MAC Commonwealth contest, while also avenging last year's 3-0 loss at Elizabethtown, which tied for second in the 2012 MAC Commonwealth standings. The Blue Jays fell to 7-5-1 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play with the loss.
Arcadia, which went 2-0-1 during its three-game home stand, is receiving votes in this week's d3soccer.com poll and is ranked fifth in the National Soccer Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Region Rankings, while Elizabethtown is ranked ninth in the region.
The Knight wasted little time getting on the board as Kramer scored on a headed off a cross from senior forward
Fatima Elmedkhar (Middletown, Del.) just 4:22 into the match. The play started with senior forward
Sara Volk-Perez (Mays Landing, N.J.) sending the ball to Elmedkhar from the right corner, who then chipped the ball from the right side of the box to a wide open Kramer.
The score remained 1-0 until the 57th-minute when Kramer sent a lead pass to junior forward
Kim Canfield (Hillsborough, N.J.), who slid feet first and placed the ball past a diving sophomore keeper Dana Robidoux (Kennett Square, Pa.) for her team-leading 13th goal of the season. Kramer then broke in all alone of a midfield pass from freshman back
Alyssa Ferraro (Warminster, Pa.) in the 74th-minute for her 12th goal of the season.
Senior keeper
Jackie Law (Scotch Plains, N.J.) was tested on a couple occasions and was up the task each time, finishing the match with four saves as her record improved to 8-1-3 for the Knights. Robidoux had six stops in the game as her record fell to 6-4-0 for Elizabethtown.
Arcadia will return to action Saturday when it travels to Widener University for a 5 p.mn. MAC Commonwealth match.
