RADNOR, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team improved to 3-1 for the season after recording a 9-0 win at Cabrini College Wednesday afternoon in its final dual match of the fall season. The Cavaliers fell to 0-3 with the loss.
 
Sophomore Alexander Colton and freshman Wesley Wei posted an 8-4 win over Anthony DiCicco and Mike Halbherr at first doubles before going on to win their singles matches in straight sets. Wei topped Joe Pacifico 6-2, 6-1 at second singles, while Colton shutout Colin Kilroy 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.
 
Senior Marc Ruggia  and sophomore Vincent Voulo were 8-2 winners at second doubles over Pacifico and Kilroy and also won their respective singles bouts in straight sets. Voulo won 6-3, 6-4 over DiCicco at first singles, while Ruggia blanked Halbherr 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
 
Sophomore Darren Stochmal and freshman Charles Poklikuha also went 2-0 on the day after starting with an 8-1 win at third doubles over Peter Seid and Don Irons. Stochmal was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 5 singles over Seid, and Poklikuha won a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Irons at No. 6 singles.
 
The men's tennis team will next compete at this weekend's MAC Individual Championships, which are being co-hosted by King's College and Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. October 12-13.
