Women's Lacrosse Starts 2013 Season Tonight

Glenside, PA (February 27, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights get the 2013 season underway tonight as they host the Neumann University Knights. Arcadia hits the field looking to improve on their fifth place finish last season and earn a spot in the MAC Freedom Tournament. The Knights were picked to finish fifth this season in the preseason poll. Tonight's game is scheduled to face-off at 7pm on Easton Field and will feature free smores (weather permitting), free t-shirts for goals and halftime promotions.

"We are definitely excited about getting the season underway tonight," said head coach Erin Livingston. "The team has been working hard all fall and spring preparing for the season to start tonight. We are returning some key starters from last season and have a strong freshman class that is looking to make an immediate impact. We have three all-conference players returning from last year that we are looking to build around."

Three questions about the 2013 team and season with Erin Livingston:

What are you most excited about for this season?
I am most excited to see some of our top returners and top freshmen play together. They have been starting to really come together in practice and it will be fun to watch them play together.

Who are your team leaders and what to they mean to the program?
We have different leaders that step up at different times. Everyone is going to be given the chance to step into a role to lead at some point throughout different situations in the season and I believe there are numerous players ready for that opportunity. Meghan Fallon is a returning senior captain and she has experience taking on leadership roles. She will definitely be relied on with such a young team.

Who are your top newcomers?
We have 9 new players to the team this year. I am confident that any of them can step in and make a positive impact at anytime.
