Box Score Gwynedd Valley, PA (March 27, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (3-4) had their three game winning streak snapped this afternoon in s 14-6 loss to the Gwynedd Mercy College Griffins (3-4). The Knights took a 2-0 lead, but the Griffins then scored nine straight goals and went on to the victory. Chris Jacovino scored three times for Arcadia.

Arcadia jumped out in front as Austin Morris and Jacovino each scored unassisted goals to make the score 2-0 at the 7:26 mark. Gwynedd Mercy then scored nine straight goals to take a 9-2 lead at the 6:19 mark of the second quarter. Chris Baines scored from Jacovino for Arcadia to make it 9-3 with 2:19 to play in the second quarter. The Griffins scored once more before the half and match went into the break with the Griffins leading 10-3.

Arcadia was outshot 23-17 won just six of the 17 face-offs.

Gwynedd Mercy scored the first two goals of the third quarter to take a 12-3 lead. Jacovino then scored from Morris at 5:26, but the Griffins scored just over a minute later and the match went into the fourth quarter with a 13-4 score.

Jacovino scored an unassisted goal to start the fourth and Keith Napolitano scored from Morris at 11:12 to make the score 13-6. Gwynedd Mercy the final goal of the match at 10:26 go make the final 14-6.

Morris had a goal and three assist for the Knights. Cory Sonderschafer took the loss in goal, making seven saves.

The Knights return to action on Wednesday, April 3rd when they travel to face Bryn Athyn for a 4:30pm face-off.
