Box Score 2 St. David's, PA (April 18, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (16-15) split a non-conference doubleheader at the Eastern College Eagles (10-20). Arcadia dropped the first game 6-4, but came back and won game two 8-0.
Leanda Helms was 5-5, including a homer in the doubleheader with two runs scored and three RBI.
In the game two victory, the Knights jumped out in front quickly with three in the first as
Alexandra Schafer had an RBI single,
Brandee Zablotsky hit a sac fly and
Leanda Helms homered. In the second Arcadia added three more as
Jessica Wood hit a two run double and then scored on an error. In the third,
Marissa Perez hit an RBI double and then in the fifth Perez hit an RBI single for an 8-0 lead.
Erin Wilson picked up the win, pitching three innings and allowed just two hits, while striking out four. Perez was 3-4 with a run scored and two RBI, while Schafer was 2-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Natalie O'Reilly was 2-2 with a run scored.
In game one, Eastern scored three in the first to take a 3-0 lead. Arcadia got two back in the second as Helms scored on a wild pitch and
Sara Boyadjis hit an RBI single. They tied the game in the third as Helms hit an RBI single. Helms then hit an RBI double in the fifth for a 4-3 Knight lead. Eastern then scored three in the fifth to take a 6-4 advantage and won by the two run margin.
Helms was 3-3 with a run scored and two RBI.
Arcadia will return to action tomorrow as they host Hood College for a single game at 4pm on Blankley Field.
