Box Score Dallas, PA (April 27, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (13-4, 5-1 MFRE) ended their regular season this afternoon with a 17-11 win over the Misericordia University Cougars (0-16, 0-6). They led 7-3 at the break and then scored 10 times in the second half to get the victory.
Haylee Molloy scored six goals and also had an assist to lead the Knights.
Misericordia scored first at 22:53, but Arcadia tied the match at the 22:23 mark as
Dawn Faranetta scored from
Jaclyn Feffer. The Knights then took the lead as
Haylee Molloy scored at 18:21. Faranetta scored from Molloy at 12:49 to make it 3-1. Molloy then made it 4-1, but the Cougars scored to make it 4-2 at 10:45. Molloy scored at 8:48 to make it 5-2 and then Molloy scored again at 7:19 to make it 6-2. Feffer made it 7-2 at 5:09, but the Cougars scored at 4:43 to make the halftime score 7-3.
Feffer quickly made it 8-3, scoring in the first minute of the second half. Misericordia scored to make it 8-4, but the Knights scored the next two as
Meghan Fallon scored twice to make it 10-4 at 25:08. The Cougars made it 10-5, but
Jenna Crothers scored at 24:34 for a 11-5 Arcadia lead. Misericordia then scored three times to cut the deficit to three at 11-8. Crothers made it 12-8 at 10:03 and Faranetta gave the Knights a 13-8 lead at 7:57. The Cougars scored at 7:26, but Molloy got that goal back at 5:39 for a 14-9 lead. The Cougars cut it to 14-10, but once again Molloy scored and it was 15-10. Misericordia cut it to 15-11 at 3:06, but then
Johanna Castiblanco and Feffer scoredin the final two minutes to make the final 17-11.
Feffer scored three goals and had an assist, while Faranetta scored three times. Crothers and Fallon each scored twice.
Jordyn Dunacusky earned the victory, making five saves.
Arcadia will head to the postseason on Tuesday afternoon as they will host either Wilkes or Manhattanville at 4pm on Easton Field in the MAC Freedom semifinals.
