Glenside, PA (April 9, 2013) - The Arcadia University Knights (7-0, 2-0 MFRE) remained undefeated after a 5-4 win over the Eastern University Eagles this afternoon on Weiss Courts. Arcadia led 2-1 after doubles play, but dropped the first three singles matches. The Knights got wins in the final three singles match, including
Danielle Riggins at sixth singles who clinched the win with her victory.
Arcadia fell at first doubles, but
Jasmine Peake and
Viola Sawyer took second doubles, 8-0.
Latoya Fluker and
Alexandria Broome then won at third doubles, 8-5. Eastern fought back with a win at first singles match but
Emily Delp countered with a win at fourth sinlges 6-2, 6-3 to make it 3-2. Broome won her match at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-2 putting Arcadia 4-2. Arcadia lost at second and third singles match to even up the score to a 4-4. Then Riggins clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win at sixth singles.
The Knights will put their unbeaten record on the line on Saturday as they travel to face Wilkes in MAC Freedom action.
