Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team dropped a 75-67 Commonwealth Conference contest to visiting Alvernia University Wednesday night at Alumni Gymnasium. The Crusaders improved to 10-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play, while the Knights fell to 6-10 overall and 1-8 in conference play.
The game was won for Alvernia at the free throw line, where the Crusaders went 19-of-31 to Arcadia's 11-for-14 performance at the stripe. The two teams were even on the floor, 56-56.
Senior forward Brain Parker (Chichester, Pa.) scored a game-high 31 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and was 13-for-17 at the free throw line to lead Alvernia to the win. He also had a game-high 11 rebounds. Senior guard Chris Davis (Norristown, Pa.) and junior center Harrison Deyo (Phoenixville, Pa.) added 11 points each.

Alex Cohen (Ridgewood, N.J.) scored 10 points each to lead a balanced attack for the Knights. Senior guard

Khalil Curtis (Philadelphia, Pa.) added eight points each.
It was a one-possession game for all but a minute and a half in the opening stanza, with the brief exception being the final 1:37 of the frame after senior forward Khalil Bennett's (Old Bridge, N.J.) three gave Alvernia a 37-31 lead. Fitzpatrick then drained a pair of free throws for the Knights with six second to go in the opening half, cutting their deficit to 37-33 at the break.
The two teams exchanged small runs in the second half, which eventually saw the Crusaders open a game-high 12-point advantage with 5:43 to go, 66-54. Arcadia pulled back within seven two and a half minutes later and it was still seven point game after junior forward
Joe Brown's (Philadelphia, Pa.) layup with 1:06 remaining.
The Knights had their chances to get even closer as Alvernia went through an 0-for-4 stretch at the line, but could not get a shot to fall before Bennett finally hit a pair with 33 seconds on the clock to make it a 74-66 game.
Arcadia will next travel to Stevenson University Saturday for a 1 p.m. Commonwealth Conference contest.
