Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Dalisera’s two goals lift field hockey past DeSales, 4-1

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Junior back Taylor Dalisera scored her second and third goals of the season to lead the Arcadia University field hockey team to a 4-1 non-conference win over visiting DeSales University Tuesday night at Easton Field, snapping the Bulldogs' five-match winning streak. Both teams are now 9-5 for the season.

Freshman forward Amanda Hess opened the scoring with her fifth goal of the season 13:42 into the contest when she placed a centering pass from Dalisera inside the right corner of the cage to give the Knights an early 1-0 lead. Hess then setup what proved to be the difference-maker five minutes later, sending a feed to senior forward Molly Goldstein who placed her shot inside the left post to give Arcadia a 2-0 advantage with her third goal of the year.

Dalisera scored both of her goals from the top of the circle off penalty corners that were inserted by senior back Katrina Dull. Her first goal came in the 22nd-minute and her second was in the 44th-minute, extending the Knights' lead to 4-0.

Dalisera also registered a defensive save in the game, stopping a shot from junior midfielder Meryah Harding 2:33 into the second half.

Senior midfielder Alyssa Malatesta broke up Arcadia's shutout bid in the 60th-minute when she scored off a corner for the 4-1 final.

Sophomore goalkeeper Brittany Hodson made a season-high eight saves in goal for the Knights, improving her record to 3-2 for the season. Junior goalkeeper Becky Rasmuson fell to 9-5 after making just two saves in the game for DeSales.

Arcadia outshot the Bulldogs 14-18 and had a 19-6 advantage in penalty corners.

The Knights will next travel to Messiah College Saturday for a 1 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
