CHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team suffered its first Commonwealth Conference loss of the season Tuesday, falling at Widener University 3-0. The Pride improved to 9-3-1 overall and 2-2 in conference play with the win, while the Knights fell to 6-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in conference matches.
Junior forward/midfielder Eric Taylor scored the first two goals of the game for Widener, putting home a shot from roughly 30 yards out 16:57 into the game and then scoring off a rebound 9:49 into the second half. Junior midfielder Tori Remondelli capped the scoring with 3:55 to go in the game.
Sophomore keeper Dave Sousa recorded five saves to earn the win in goal for the Pride, while junior keeper
Seth Shoap failed to make a save in taking the loss for Arcadia.
The Pride outshot the Knights 11-9, and had a 3-2 advantage on corner kicks.
Arcadia will look to get back on track Saturday when it travels to Lycoming for a 1 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
