OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team tied host Stevenson University 1-1 Saturday in the Commonwealth Conference-opener for both teams. The Knights are now 5-3-2 for the season, while the Mustangs are 9-3-1.
Arcadia jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as senior midfielder
Alex Wells dribbled through traffic before depositing a shot into the back of the net for his second goal of the season 2:42 into the contest. Stevenson then tied the in the 34th-minute when Landon Easler found the back of the net with a shot from some 25 yards out for his second tally of the season.
That proved to be the only scoring in the game as neither team could break through in the final 76:43 of the contest.
Junior keeper
Seth Shoap finished with one save for the Knights as his record moved to 5-3-2 on the season. Fellow junior keeper Ryan Callinan also had one stop in net for Stevenson as his record went to 8-3-1.
The Mustangs held a narrow 13-11 margin in shots for the game, and had all five corner kicks.
The Knights will be back in action next Saturday, October 11, when they host a 5:30 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match against Hood College at Easton Field.
