TOWSON, Md. – Senior back
Alex Stoner scored her first goal of the season in the 64th-minute to give the Arcadia University women's soccer team a 1-0 non-conference victory at Goucher College Tuesday night. The Knights improved to 9-3-0 with the win, while the Gophers fell to 3-8-1 with the loss.
Senior midfielder
Kim Canfield setup Stoner's goal, sending in a corner kick that Stoner headed into the lower right corner 18:01 into the second half. It was just the fourth goal of the all-conference defender's collegiate career.
The assist was the ninth of the season for Canfield, tying her for the sixth on the all-time single-season list. Her 27 career assists are the second-most all-time at Arcadia.
Freshman keeper
Natalie Toner recorded a season-high five saves as she improved to 2-0-0 with her second shutout of the season. Junior keeper Lexi Rudolph fell to 2-3-1 after making six saves for Goucher.
The Knights outshot the Gophers 14-7 and had a 3-1 edge on corner kicks in the match.
Arcadia will return to action Saturday when it hosts a 2:30 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match against Hood College at Easton Field.
