CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's basketball team got into the win column for the first time this season with a 93-36 victory at Baptist Bible College Tuesday, mark the first win for head coach
Rose Katz since she was tabbed to lead the Knights. Arcadia is now 1-2 for the season, while the Defenders fell to 0-3.
Senior forward
Megan Fox and junior
Addy Crenny each scored a game-high 16 points with a game-high four steals to lead five Knights that entered double figures. Crenny was 6 of 9 from the floor and fell just shy of her third double-double after pulling down eight rebounds, while Fox was 7 of 10 shooting from the field.
Junior guard
Maureen Fiocca netted 13 points with four rebounds, three assists and two steals, and junior forward
Valerie DiMuro netted 12 points on 6 of 10 shooting from the field while grabbing five rebounds. Junior guard
Samantha Caligiuri added 10 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the floor while handing out four assists and notching four steals.
Freshman guard Rebekah Levine scored 12 points to lead Baptist Bible, while fellow freshman guard Bonnie Bouvier scored 10 points. Freshman guard Simone Lichty added seven points with six rebounds the three assists.
The game was never in doubt as Arcadia scored the first 17 points of the game. DiMuro scored eight points during that span, while Fiocca tallied seven. The Knights led 57-13 at the half and
Arcadia shot 50 percent (40-80) from the field and had a 43-23 rebounding advantage. The Defenders shot 33 percent (14-42) from the floor.
The Knights will next open Commonwealth Conference play when they travel to Hood College Saturday. The game tips off at 1 p.m.
