CAMDEN, N.J. – The Arcadia University men's basketball team fell to 1-2 on the season after falling in overtime at Rutgers-Camden 92-90 Wednesday night in a non-conference contest. The Scarlet Raptors improved to 2-0 with the win.
The Knights led 84-78 after freshman guard
Sean Mayberry knocked down a pair of free throws with 3:30 left in the second half, but those were the last points would score in regulation. Senior guard Wyatt Polk knocked down a jumper on the ensuing possession before Rutgers-Camden scored four straight at the line to tie the game.

Joe Brown tossed up an attempt at the game-winning layup going back down the floor, but the shot wouldn't go down sending the contest to overtime.

Travis Saltus laid in a pair of baskets to start the extra frame and put the Knights up four, but the Scarlet Raptors responded with six straight and took a 90-88 lead on junior guard Julian Martin's layup with 2:09 remaining. Sophomore guard Ryan Kelly answered with a layup down the floor to tie the game with 1:24 left.
Senior guard K.J. Brown knocked down what would be the game-winning jumper for Rutgers-Camden with nine seconds to go, and freshman forward Abby Bah pulled down the rebound following the second of two missed free throws by junior forward
Alex Cohen as time expired.
The Scarlet Raptors led for nearly the entire first half and were up by as many as 11 before settling for a 49-44 lead at the break. The opposite was true in the second with Arcadia leading most of the way and going up by as many as nine after Brown drained a three to cap an eight-point run that gave the Knights a 78-69 lead with 7:54 left in the period.
Polk poured in a game-high 36 points on 12 of 23 shooting from the field with six threes and a 6 for 8 showing at the line to lead Rutgers-Camden. Martin netted 21 points while going 9 of 11 from the field and 3 for 4 at the line while dishing out five assists, and K.J. Brown tallied 13 points.
Joe Brown led Arcadia with 24 points on 10 of 16 shooting from the field with a trio of threes, pulling him within 10 points of 1,000 for his career, and pulled down eight rebounds. Saltus netted 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the floor, while senior forward
Jose Figueroa registered a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
The Knights will next open Commonwealth Conference play Saturday at Hood College. The game is set to tip off at 3 p.m.
