Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Arcadia University softball team went 1-1 on the second day of its trip to the Snowbird Softball Classic, opening the day with a 5-2 win over SUNYIT before dropping a 2-0 decision to NCAA Division II Bemidji State University. The Knights are now 2-2 for the season.

Arcadia took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first against SUNYIT when junior Jessica Shotwell (Winsted, Conn.) scored on sophomore Sarah Gunia's (East Brunswick, N.J.) single to center, but the Wildcats answered in the top of the third when sophomore Fallon Reinold (Holland Patent, N.Y.) lifted a sac-fly to left that allowed sophomore Erika Charbonneau (Boonville, N.Y.) to score from third and tie the game.

Junior Krista Pristera (New Hartford, N.Y.) scored from first on an error in center field in the top of the sixth to give SUNYIT a 2-1 lead, but the Knights plated four runs in the bottom half of the fame to pull out the win. Sophomore Nicole Larro (Cedarville, N.J.) cleared the bases with a triple to the center field wall and then scored as senior Jessica Wood (Columbus, N.J.) reached on an error in left. Gunia then recorded three straight outs in the top of the seventh to secure the victory.

Gunia went the distance in the pitcher's circle, allowing two unearned runs on four hits while fanning six to pick up her first win of the season. She was also 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI, while Shotwell was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Junior Jessica Patterelli (Canastota, N.Y.) fell to 1-1 after allowing five runs on 10 hits in six innings. Charbonneau and Pristera each went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

In Arcadia's second game of the day, Bemidji State scored the only two runs of the contest in the bottom of the fourth inning. Sophomore Lyndsey Peterson (Cottonwood, Minn.) tripled to center to drive in sophomore Mikayla Osterman (Sierra Vista, Ariz.) on a ball the was almost caught by senior Amanda Tomaschek (Toms River, N.J.) at the wall, and then scored on a throwing error as Shotwell's throw home went up the third base line as she tried to throw out Peterson.

Freshman Danielle Jecmen (Bloomingdale, Ill.) tossed a complete-game shutout for the Beavers, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out nine. Sophomore Erin Wilson (Bethlehem, Pa.) took the loss after allowing two runs, one earned on three hits with four strikeouts in four innings for the Knights.

Arcadia had several scoring chances in the game, but stranded runners in scoring position on three occasions. Sophomore Sarah Boyadjis (Cedar Knolls, N.J.) was left at second after sending a single to center field and stealing second with one out in the top of the first, and the Knights left the bases loaded in the top of the fifth. Arcadia had runners at second and third with just one away in the seventh before two ground outs to third ended the game.
