ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 non-conference decision at Muhlenberg College Thursday afternoon, dropping the Knights' record to 3-2 after their first match of the spring. The Mules improved to 2-3 with the win.
Senior
Marc Ruggia (Mt. Laurel, N.J.) and sophomore
Vincent Voulo (Kunkletown, Pa.) picked up an 8-6 victory at second doubles over Muhlenberg's tandem of junior Eric Chavis (Ocean Township, N.J.) and freshman David Woods (Gladwyne, Pa.).
Senior Ben Berkowitz (Fairfield, Conn.) and sophomore Derrick Eng (Ridgewood, N.J.) edged sophomore
Darren Stochmal (Millville, N.J.) and freshman Charles Poklikuha (West Creek, Pa.) 8-5 at third doubles, and Eng later rallied for a 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 11-9 win over Poklikuha at sixth singles.
The Knights will return to action Tuesday when they travel to Rosemont College for a 4 p.m. non-conference match.
