Box Score READING, Pa. – The fifth-seeded Arcadia University softball team dropped an 11-1 decision to top-seeded Messiah College in five innings Saturday at the 2014 Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament, which is hosted by Alvernia University.

Junior Mallory Rutledge (Quarryville, Pa.) improved to 14-5 with the win for Messiah after allowing one run on two hits in four innings. Freshman Amanda Jones (York, Pa.) was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored, while sophomore Brooke Pompeo (Williamsport, Pa.) was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Sarah Gunia (East Brunswick, N.J.) took the loss for Arcadia after giving up six runs on seven hits in 1.1 innings, dropping her record to 7-11. Boyadjis and Wood were both 1-for-2 with a double.
The Knights will next face fourth-seeded Alvernia Saturday at 1 p.m. in an elimination game.
