GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team recorded a 5-4 non-conference victory over visiting Lebanon Valley College Saturday afternoon at Weiss Courts. It was the first match of the 2014-15 season for both teams.
The Knights trailed 2-1 after the doubles competition, picking up a point as the tandem of juniors
Alex Colton and
Vincent Voulo earned an 8-3 win at No. 1 over Jordan Shankroff Jonathan Hastings. Arcadia then pulled out four wins in singles action to record the win.
Sophomore
Wesley Wei defeated Nick Jones 7-5, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, while junior
Darren Stochmal was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at No. 4. Sophomore Chuck Pokikluha picked up a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 5 and freshman
Collin Boris sealed the win with a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 6 for the first win of his collegiate career.
The Knights will return to action October 7 when they host a 3:30 p.m. non-conference match against Penn State-Abington at Weiss Courts.
