Men’s Soccer Clinches No. 4 Seed in MAC Commonwealth Championship with 3-0 Victory at Hood

FREDERICK, Md. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team clinched its second straight MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament berth with a 3-0 conference victory at Hood College Saturday to close out the 2015 regular season.

The Knights improved to 11-5-3 overall and 4-2-2 in MAC Commonwealth play with the win, and secured the fourth seed in next week's conference tournament. Arcadia will host fifth-seeded Widener University in Monday night's First Round match that will get underway at 7 p.m. at Easton Field.

Freshman Ryan Hammer scored the only goal the Knights would need 20:12 into the match after being sent in on a breakaway by sophomore Bradley McKim for his seventh goal of the season. It was the fifth assist of the year for McKim, who scored twice in the second half as Arcadia pulled away for the win.

McKim's first tally came in the 56th-minute when he put home a loose ball that was in front of the net, and then put in a header off a free kick from senior Derrick Brewer in the 81st-minute. They were his team-leading 14th and 15th goals of the season.

Sophomore Chris Watson stopped both shots on goal he faced to improve his record to 11-5-3 for the season, while also tallying his sixth clean sheet of the season.

Hood had plenty of opportunities to score, outshooting Arcadia 13-11 and holding an 8-2 advantage on corner kicks, but were unable to convert.
