FREDERICK, Md. - The Arcadia University women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with a 7-0 win over MAC Commonwealth foe Hood. Six differents Knights registered a goal, led by
Jess Kelly with two.Â
Kelly wasted little time giving the Scarlet and Grey a 2-0 lead. The sophomore scored the game's first goal just 8:05 in on a cross from
Karis Poore. At the 9:28 mark, on the game's very next shot, Kelly finished a cross from
Jackie Glanfield.Â
Arcadia kept the pressure on as
Kayla Haberbosch tapped in a cross from
Ghil Joseph early in the 22nd minute. Rookie
Evelyn Feigeles made a leaping save in the 26th minute to deny Jessie Herbert a goal, and to maintain a clean sheet. Â
Freshmen
Veronica Pontis tallied her first career goal when she met twine with a hard header off a corner from classmate
Stephanie Maggio early in the second half. Poore followed with the Knights fifth goal just over two minutes later off a through ball from Haberbosch.
Melia Ochsner and
Bailey Novak capped the scoring for the Knights.Â
Feigeles completed the clean sheet with four saves. As a team, the Knights fired 30 shots, 14 of which went on goal.Â
The Knights finsih the regular season on a four game win streak to complete a 13-5 campaign. With a 6-2 conference mark, the Scarlet and Grey are the third seed in next week's MAC Commonwealth playoffs. Arcadia travels to Stevenson on Thursday for the semifinals, the time has yet to be determined.Â
