Women’s basketball drops regular season finale at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's basketball team was outscored 55-27 in the first half as it dropped an 84-57 Commonwealth Conference decision at Widener University Saturday.

Today's loss combined with Lebanon Valley College's upset win over first-place Stevenson University will send the fifth-seeded Knights on the road to face the fourth-seeded Dutchmen Monday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Commonwealth Conference Championship Tournament.

The Pride (11-14, 5-11 CC) opened today's game with a 21-1 run and never looked back, going up by 28 at the half after shooting 60.5 percent (23-38) from the floor while holding Arcadia (12-13, 8-8 CC) to just 29 percent (9-31).

Junior Maureen Fiocca scored 13 points to lead the Knights, while senior Megan Fox was a close second with 12. Junior Addy Crenny managed just eight points and nine rebounds, falling just short of her 20th double-double of the season.

Freshman Allison Gallagher scored a game-high 19 points while pulling down six rebounds to lead the Pride, while senior Courtney Colella netted 15 points and pulled down nine boards. Junior Ally Ferrucci and freshman Julia Venturelli added 11 points each.
