Nicki Larro was a combined 6 for 7 with three homers, two triples, 13 RBI and seven runs scored as the Arcadia University softball team rolled to a 25-0 win over Sarah Lawrence College and a 12-0 win over Rutgers-Newark Thursday at the Snowbird Softball Classic. The Knights closed out their annual spring break trip with a record of 5-3.
Larro was 3 for 4 with a triple, two home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored in the win over Sarah Lawrence, launching a two-run blast to left as part of a 13-run third for her first career long ball before crushing her first career grand slam in the six-run fourth. Megan Roynan more than enough support as she struck out a career-high 10 batters while tossing a one-hit shutout to even her record at 1-1. Roynan helped her own cause by going 1 for 3 at the plate with two RBI and three runs scored.
Senior
Jessica Shotwell was 3 for 4 with a double, four RBI and four runs scored, while junior
Sara Boyadjis went 2 for 4 with a triple, three runs scored and two more driven in. Junior
Alicia McMahon went 4 for 5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored, while classmate
Sarah Gunia went 3 for 5 with two doubles, four runs scored and two driven in.
Larro stayed hot at the plate against Rutgers-Newark, going 3 for 3 that included a two-run homer to left in the bottom of the first and a bases-clearing triple to center in the third as she totaled five RBI and two runs scored, helping the Knights avenge Tuesday's 11-5 loss to the Scarlet Raiders.
Junior
Erin Wilson tossed a three-hit shutout to even her record at 2-2 this season while going 1 for 3 at the plate. Boyadjis was 2 for 2 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored.
Arcadia is next schedule to open the Commonwealth Conference play Sunday with a doubleheader at Widener University.
