GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team was outscored 4-2 in the fourth quarter as it dropped a 9-7 non-conference contest to visiting Gwynedd Mercy University Wednesday night at Easton Field. The Griffins improved to 3-0 with the win, while the Knights fell to 1-2 with the loss.
The game was tied at five through three quarters after freshman
Ryan Green scored his second goal of the game while the Knights were man-down with 53 seconds remaining in the period, while classmate
Danny Riley scored his second goal of the game 38 seconds into the fourth quarter to put Arcadia ahead 6-5.
The score remained that way until freshman Dominic Moscariello scored the first of his two goals with 6:55 remaining, starting a four-goal surge that put Gwynedd Mercy ahead for good. Junior Tony McCraw scored the go-ahead goal just over a minute later and Moscariello scored an insurance goal with 4:32 on the clock. The two teams traded goals in the final 12 seconds for the 9-7 final.

Matt Mignogna and Riley scored two goals each for the Knights, while freshman
Sean McDonald added one goal with one assist. Fellow freshman
A.J. Beck registered 13 saves and a game-high seven ground balls while making his collegiate debut in net.
Junior Blase Cesarone, sophomore Alfnso Manzo, McCraw and Moscariello scored two goals each for the Griffins. Senior John Black had 10 saves as he improved to 3-0 in goal this season.
Gwynedd Mercy outshot Arcadia 40-30 and was 0 for 2 with the extra man. The Knights had a 30-28 edge in ground balls while going 1 for 3 with the extra man and scoring once while shorthanded.
Arcadia will return to action Saturday when it travels to Delaware Valley College for a 4 p.m. non-conference contest.
