Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Stockton, 12-7

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team was outscored 7-2 in the second half as it fell to visiting Stockton University Monday at Easton Field. The game was tied at 5-5 before being halted at halftime due to the snow storm that rolled in February 21, and was played the completion this evening.
 
The two teams initially traded scores once the game resumed, with freshman Sean McDonald tying the contest for the Knights (1-4) just 34 seconds into the fourth quarter. Junior James O'Donnell answered 32 seconds later for the Ospreys (3-0), who tallied five unanswered goals to close the game. Classmate Vincent Manasia accounted for three of those goals, and capped the scoring with 31 seconds left on the clock.
 
Arcadia led twice in the early going when the game had originally started some two weeks ago. Freshman Danny Riley tied the game at 3-3 with 2:27 left in the first quarter before giving the Knights the lead 1:48 into the second. Sophomore Joe Stanton put Arcadia up 5-4 midway through the second quarter before O'Donnell tied the game with 1:48 left in the period.
 
Manasia scored four goals to lead Stockton, while O'Donnell found the back of the net three times. Sophomore Eric Leonard earned the win after allowing seven goals with six saves.
 
Riley tallied four goals to lead the Knights, while freshman Ryan Green, McDonald and Stanton had one goal each. Freshman A.J. Beck took the loss in goal after allowing seven goals with 10 saves in the second half.
 
Arcadia is off for the next two weeks, and will return to action when it hosts its first-ever Commonwealth Conference game against Alvernia University March 25 at 7 p.m.
