GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's tennis team recorded a 7-2 non-conference victory over visiting Cabrini College Monday afternoon at Weiss Courts to improve its overall record to 5-3 for the season. The Cavaliers fell to 4-8 with the loss.
The Knights took a 2-1 lead after doubles play, with Cabrini's lone point being earned on a Knights' retirement. Junior
Vincent Voulo and sophomore
Wesley Wei defeated senior Anthony DiCicco and freshman Alijah Broadnax 8-2 at first-doubles, while the team of junior
Alex Colton and sophomore
Chuck Poklikuha downed junior Colin Kilroy and sophomore Joe Pacifico 8-2 at second-doubles.
After moving on to singles competition, Voulo recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory over DiCicco at No. 1 singles, while Colton posted a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Broadnax at No. 2 singles. Wei shut out Pacifico in straight sets, and Poklikuha earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over junior Sean Neary at No. 4 singles. Sophomore
Ricardo Margolles was also a winner in straight sets over Kilroy 6-2, 6-2 at fifth-singles.
The Knights will return to action Wednesday when they host a Freedom Conference match against Eastern University.
