GLENSIDE, PA. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team set a total of seven single-game records as it cruised to an 18-6 non-conference victory over Mount Saint Vincent Wednesday night at Easton Field. The Knights improved to 4-8 on the season with the win, while the Dolphins fell to 0-10 with the loss.
Sophomore
Joe Stanton scored a school-record tying five goals to go with three assists for a program-record eight points on the evening, while classmate
Sean McDonald registered a program-record five assists. Arcadia's 35 total points and 17 assists are both new single-game team records.
Freshman
Billy Van Dyke surpassed a pair of his own school records, winning a program-record 21 faceoffs and picking up a program record 17 ground balls. He has now set a new record for faceoffs won on three occasions during his rookie campaign.
Freshman
Ryan Donovan totaled seven points on the night with three goals and four assists, while sophomore
Kenny Grant and freshman
Ryan Green also found the back of the net on three occasions. Freshman
A.J. Beck earned the decision in goal after allowing four goals with four saves in his three quarters of work. Sophomore
Ryan O'Leary had three stops and one goal against in just over seven minutes of action to open the fourth quarter, while classmate
Jordan Culichia had one save and one goal against in the remainder of the game.
Senior Pat McEnany, junior Mike McEnany and freshman Rob Lalli scored two goals each for the Dolphins. Pat McEnany also finished with two assists for a team-best four points. Freshman Frank Bakakos went the distance in goal, totaling 15 saves.
The game was tied at 1-1 heading into the final minute of the first quarter, where Grant and Van Dyke scored just nine seconds apart to open a 10-goal run for the Knights that extended into the third quarter as they build an 11-1 advantage following Donovan's third goal of the game.
Arcadia will get back into Commonwealth Conference play Saturday with a trip to Hood College.
