GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's soccer team recorded a dominant 4-0 victory over visiting Moravian College Tuesday afternoon at Easton Field to kick off the 2015 season. It was the season-opener for both teams.
Junior
Lennon Kramer scored the only goal of the first half just 6:10 into the contest, heading in a corner kick that was inserted by sophomore
Jess Kelly. The score remained that way until freshman
Ghil Joseph scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the 68th-minute, putting the ball in from the top-right corner of the box.
Sophomore
Kayla Haberbosch punched one in just under two minutes later off a cross from Kramer, and junior
Karis Poore capped the scoring in the 76th-minute for the 4-0 final. Freshman Mia Bertalomi setup Poore's tally for the first point of her collegiate career.
The gap in the score could have much more significant that four goals, as the Knights hit two posts and a crossbar in the game.
Freshman Evelyn Fiegeles stopped all three shots on goal she faced to record the shutout victory in net in her first career appearance in goal.
Arcadia outshot the Greyhounds 19-5 in the game, including a 10-2 margin in the first half and a 9-3 margin in the second.
The Knights will next play in the 2015 Haverford Kick-Off Classic, taking on the host Fords in the opening round Saturday at 1 p.m.
