GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team dropped its 2015 home-opener to visiting Lycoming College Tuesday night by a 3-0 decision at Alumni Gymnasium.
The first two games could have gone either way, with the Warriors edging the Knights 25-23 and 25-20. Arcadia struggled to find its rhythm in the third game allowing Lycoming to jump out to an early 7-1 lead on its way to a 25-13 to close out the match.
Kristine Jahn led the Warriors (6-3, 1-0 MACC) on offense, putting down 10 kills with two errors on 18 swings for a .444 attack percentage, while Bethany Richardson hit .333 with nine kills and four errors on 15 attempts. Lauren Fink hit .357 with seven kills and just one error on 17 attempts.
Freshman
Elizabeth Joseph hit .333 with a team-best nine kills and two errors on 21 attempts, while junior
Makenna Micklus added six kills while registering six digs.
Arcadia hit just .085 in the match, while Lycoming hit a respectable .232.
The Knights will look to bounce back on Friday when they take on host Stevens Institute of Technology and Kean University on the first day of competition at the Stevens Ducks Classic.
